Sound design is the fifth dimension of film: that certain something that often, imperceptibly, catapults us right into the scene; the element that decides whether we experience goosebumps or an adrenaline rush. When sounds, silence, music, and voices all come together with the image to form a convincing whole, it’s thanks to the right mix of tones.

Good sound design requires imagination and a willingness to experiment – as well as a strong awareness of the content. Because sound design isn’t just about knowing which sound to record or edit and how to do it, it’s also about recognising where sound design is necessary and adds value – and where it’s not.

For this, we bring not only plenty of experience but also extensive Foley libraries.

If the right sound isn’t there, we create it ourselves. For example, using the rustling of tissues, which – when recorded and processed correctly – perfectly imitates the sound of birds flying. Or with the help of a pepper, which often meets its end when bones break in a film…
